In the scope of the partnership between EDP and CTG (China Three Gorges), Cao Guangjing and António Mexia discussed, in Lisbon, the terms of the agreement for the creation of an R&D centre for new energy technologies.
The Agreement, celebrated between EDP Labelec, a wholly owned subsidiary of EDP, and SIDRI (Shanghai Investigation, Design & Research Institute), a wholly owned subsidiary of CTG, has the objective of exploring opportunities in three areas of common interest to both companies:
- Cooperation in R&D activities in new energy technologies;
- Joint participation in international projects;
- Mutual technical cooperation.
This R&D centre will enable an increase in the technological capacity of both companies and further develop the potential of joint development in new business opportunities.
The creation of this centre emphasizes the execution and development of the Strategic Partnership between CTG and EDP, established in the scope of EDP’s privatization process, occurred in December 2011.
