Between 14 and 16 July, the consortium’s second meeting took place in Portugal, where project partners visited the INESC-PORTO laboratories, the InovGrid center, in Évora, and the Portuguese demonstrator, in Valverde.
In this extended meeting, SENSIBLE partners discussed and debated the technical solutions that are to be installed in the three demonstrators, which case studies are to be conducted and tested in 3 demonstrators, as well as outlining the next steps.
The SENSIBLE partnership meets twice a year to discuss the project’s technical issues, management and coordination. The first meeting took place in Nottingham, in January 2015, marking the launch of the project that ends in June 2018.
Project SENSIBLE aims to integrate electrochemical, electromechanical and thermal storage technologies, micro-generation technologies and renewable energy sources in energy grids, homes and buildings. The benefits of integrating energy grid storage elements will be assessed in three demonstrators located in Portugal (Valverde, Évora), the United Kingdom (Nottingham) and Germany (Nuremberg).
