This year CIRED had 3 themes: “Power distribution companies (DSOs) supporting smart cities”, “Resilient distribution system planning and operation”, “Customer and energy services to enable flexibility and energy efficiency”.

EDP team working on SENSIBLE had 1 paper approved for poster presentation on the second theme entitled “Energy Storage Management for Grid Operation Purposes“ and three papers approved for poster presentation on the third theme about “SENSIBLE Project: Évora Demonstrator Enabling Energy Storage and Energy Management Creating Value for Grid and Customers”, “Customers’ flexibility valued in market and regulated environment” and “Integration of Energy Storage in LV Grid Normal and Emergency Operation”.

All papers were focused on Évora demonstrator and the functionalities to be tested in different use cases.

With the progress of SENSIBLE and the acquisition of knowledge and experience, EDP NEW R&D intends to keep sharing in initiatives like this its improved know how on smart grids, energy storage and energy management.
