On 10th November 2016 the researcher Pedro Castro won the 2016 prize from REN (the Portuguese TSO), with his thesis “Participation of Wind Generation in Balancing Reserve Markets”. This prize is given to the best master thesis in the energy field.

The main goal of his work was to present a methodology which could enable wind power producers to participate in energy markets where, nowadays, they are not present.
