The kick off of another NEW R&D project took place on October 10th and 11th. The project is called DOMINOES – “Smart Distribution Grid: a Market Driven Approach for the Next Generation of Advanced Operation Models and Services”.
This project aims to explore several possibilities regarding local energy markets, such as: energy communities, energy exchanges between consumers (P2P) and network areas, load aggregation and generation, demand response, system services, etc.
At this meeting, the 8 project partners from 4 different countries were present, namely: Empower and the University of Lamperanta, from Finland; NEW R&D, EDP Distribuição and ISEP-GECAD, from Portugal; VPS and the Queens University of Belfast, from the United Kingdom and the University of Seville, from Spain.
The project will last for 42 months and NEW R&D will be responsible for the work package related to the validation and demonstration of the solutions developed in the project.
